hey!
Just currious about who is a fan of shinedown. If so, what are your favorite songs by them.

I like them, though they're kind of similar to Audioslave, and their new album is horrible. My favorite songs are 45 and Save Me.

why is the new album horrible?

That new song with the marching or whatever it is in the beginning, can't remember the name of it right now, but it's horrible. It sounds like all the political crap that most rock bands seem to be converting to. When I listen to a CD, I don't want to hear a bunch of propaganda. I mean, a little bit is fine, but when every band starts doing it, and it becomes a trend, then I have a problem. Not to mention his voice is horrible on that song, so I'm basing the new album on that song, because the first single always determines the quality of the album.

the song is called devour.
H's always had that voice. Devour isn't talking about politics. It seems to be talking about champions. As for me, I base my judgements on an album by listening all the way through.

I like them but the only two songs that I have by them r "save me" and "heroes". I, too, judge on the whole album, not just the single. I loved Nickelback's "how u remind me", but wasn't sure if i wanted the CD or not. I ended up getting it, and loved the whole album.

Yeah, but I still think the first song that makes it to the radio says a lot about the album. If a new song sucks, I won't go out and buy the album. (this is before the radio plays the hell out of it, of course. If I like the song initially, then I'll really consider getting the album.) It's never steered me wrong. I'd never heard of A Perfect Circle until they started playing that song The OUtsider on the radio. It was a great song, so I went out and bought the album, and it was good. True, the songs taht don't ever make it on the radio are actually teh best ones on the album, but it's still a pretty good indication of whether the whole thing will be good or not. When they started playing the song Speak by Godsmack on the radio, I knew that album wasn't going to be as good as their old stuff because the song was mediocre, and I was right. I have the album, but only because someone copied it for me. I mean, I like it, but their old stuff is way better.

Hey all,
I like Shinedown. Their new song is a good one. I especially like their cover of Tuesday's Gone.

Their cover of Simple Man is good too.
